Nicknamed the "Amateur Sports Capital of
the World" and the "Racing Capital of the World," Indianapolis is
one of the fastest growing cities in the Midwest. Found in 1821, the
city is the capital of the State of Indiana and is the 13th largest
city in the country. It is a major hub that connects many Midwest
cities. Indianapolis is the headquarters of many companies including
Hunt Construction Group, Duke Realty Corporation and Sallie Mae. The
city is known for its sports, as it hosts the NCAA Basketball
Tournament on a regular basis and the Indianapolis 500 at the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway each year. It is home to two
professional sports franchises, the Indiana Colts (NFL), who play at
the RCA Dome, and the Indiana Pacers (NBA), who play at Conseco
Fieldhouse.
