Nicknamed the Capital City or the River
City, Sacramento is the seventh largest city in the State of
California and the capital. Established in 1850, it is the oldest
city in the state. Sacramento grew because of the California Gold
Rush and became a major distribution point. It is one of the most
livable cities in America according to reports. The Tower Bridge is
the most recognizable landmark in the city, crossing the Sacramento
River. The Sacramento Kings are the city's only professional sports
franchise. They have played in Sacramento since 1985 and play at
Arco Arena.
