MORGANTOWN

Located along the Monongahela River,
Morgantown is part of the Pittsburgh Tri-State Region. It is home to
the biggest college in the state, West Virginia University (WVU).
Established in 1867, the university has a student body of over
28,000 and offers 129 majors. Nicknamed the Mountaineers, the
official school colors are old gold and blue. WVU has thirteen
varsity Division 1 sports teams that participate in the Big East
Conference and have won seven National Championships. The
Mountaineers football team plays at Mountaineer Field where they
have been very successful. The song, Take Me Home, Country Roads,
by John Denver has become a tradition at any sporting event at
WVU.
