WASHINGTON
INFORMATION |
 |
Hopefully, if you're going to take in
America's capital you'll arrive by plane and not have to try to cope
with the complicated road system (you can have the same address
but live in different districts, if you get the picture!). You'll no
doubt want to take in the Capitol and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, as
well as the other national monuments, including the Smithsonian and
a tour of the FBI is a crowbar of an eye opener. Away from the whirr
of government agencies and the Mall it's worth taking in some of the
lovely parks and districts. Georgetown has the prettiest townhouses,
Adams Morgan has a great cultural mix, while Dupont Circle is quite
quirky but all have a good selection of eateries and bars.
